Description
Hand Painted Noritake Landscape Bowl, Morimura Export Era (circa 1911 to 1921)
This early Noritake bowl comes from the Morimura Brothers export period, when Japanese studios created porcelain for Western collectors who valued craftsmanship and romance.
The artist painted a glowing lakeside home at sunset, framed by tall trees and a small footbridge. Fine enamel colors sit beneath the glaze, giving the scene a deep, almost luminous quality.
The octagonal shape, scrolling handles, and gold rim reflect the decorative style of the 1910s. Owners used bowls like this as parlor centerpieces or cabinet displays rather than everyday tableware.
The Morimura “M” mark confirms its early Noritake origin, before the company shifted to mass-market dinnerware. Collectors prize this period for its hand painting and limited production.
Condition: Excellent. The bowl shows no cracks, chips, scratches, or crazing. The gold trim remains bright and intact.
Dimensions: 7.375 inches wide by 7.125 inches deep by 3 inches tall.
This bowl offers a small painted landscape you can enjoy every day, whether you display it on a table, a shelf, or in a cabinet.
