For the fifth year in a row, the fourth Saturday of September has been proclaimed “Downtown Day” by the Michigan Downtown Association (MDA). On September 28th, community members are encouraged o visit and support their local downtowns, enjoying the unique shops, restaurants, recreational activities, and cultural experiences they offer. Many of our Shop OC Main Street downtowns are hosting special events to celebrate this important day.

Lake Orion

• Michigan Downtown Day: Show Downtown Lake Orion businesses some love this Saturday by stopping by and shopping local in recognition of Michigan Downtown Day! This day recognizes the importance of small businesses. Dollars spent local get reinvested local. Join us in spending the day in Downtown Lake Orion enjoying great shopping, delicious meals and beverages, and enjoying the day in our downtown.

• Downtown Day: The Michigan Downtown Association’s (MDA) fifth annual Downtown Day takes place on Saturday, September 28. The day is dedicated to Michigan downtowns and encourages visitors to support local businesses by shopping, dining, and enjoying the area’s recreational and cultural attractions.  So come on down to Ortonville for a day full of fun downtown!

  • Pre-Movie Activity: Teddy bear “drive-in”: Wear your favorite pjs and bring your special teddy friend along for a “drive-in” inspired afternoon. Children can bring their favorite teddy bear along for the movie and make their own cardboard “car” for their teddy friend to sit in during the movie.
